Crested Hen Farms in High Falls is located in the charming hamlet of High Falls, N.Y. about 90 minutes by car or motorbus from New York City.  It is nestled in the Rondout Valley, which lies within the mid-Hudson Valley.  It is easily accessible from the north, south, east and west. FROM THE NORTH (Albany, N.Y. and points north): Take the New York State Thruway (Interstate 87) SOUTH to EXIT 19 (Kingston-Rhinecliff).  You are in Kingston, N.Y.   Enter the traffic circle after the tollbooth and follow the signs to Pine Hill/Ellenville/State Route 28 West/Route 209 South (exit is about one quarter of a turn after entering the traffic circle). Proceed on Route 28 West for 0.6 miles. Just after crossing over the Thruway, take the Ellenville/U.S. Route 209 South exit on the RIGHT.  Proceed on U.S. Route 209 for 11.1 miles, passing through historic Stone Ridge, N.Y.  On the left, you will notice Emmanuel’s Market Place, Rite-Aid Pharmacy and Ulster Savings Bank.  Just ahead there is a traffic light at the intersection of Route 209 and Route 213.  Stay on Route 209 (go STRAIGHT).  Approximately 1 mile past the traffic light, look for G & G Lawn and Power on your left.  Turn LEFT onto Old Kings Highway/Rest Plaus Road.  A few hundred yards after turning off of Route 209, there is a fork in the road near an old stone house and a smaller frame house, both on your left.  Stay LEFT at the fork and proceed on Rest Plaus for about 0.6 miles where it ends, forming a “T” –intersection with Lucas Turnpike (aka Ulster County Route 1).  Turn RIGHT at this intersection and proceed for 1.7 miles.  At the four-way stop, turn LEFT onto County Route 6/Kyserike Road.   A few hundred yards after turning onto County Route 6, Crested Hen Farms is on the LEFT.

FROM THE SOUTH (New York City):  Take the West Side Highway/Henry Hudson Parkway/New York 9A NORTH to the George Washington Bridge.  Exit to the right, following signs for the UPPER LEVEL of the bridge.  While crossing the bridge merge into one of the right two lanes and exit RIGHT onto exit 74 towards the Palisades Interstate Parkway at the far end of the bridge.  Continue on the Palisades Interstate Parkway for approximately 19 miles.  At Exit 9W, exit RIGHT and loop around onto Interstate 287W/Interstate 87N/New York State Thruway NORTH.  Stay on the NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY/Interstate 87 NORTH for approximately 52 miles.  Get off of the Thruway at Exit 18/New Paltz/Poughkeepsie/NY-299 (RIGHT exit).  Proceed through the tollbooth and a hundred yards to a traffic light at the intersection of the tollway exit and Main Street/NY-299.  Turn LEFT at this traffic light.  Proceed 1.6 miles, passing through downtown New Paltz, N.Y.  Just as you are leaving New Paltz, you will cross over the Wallkill River on a small metal suspension bridge. About 0.1 miles past the bridge, turn RIGHT onto Springtown Road and go 0.5 miles then merge LEFT onto Mountain Rest Road.  Proceed for 2.8 miles going up Mohonk Mountain.  As you go over the top of the mountain, stay on the same road, but the name changes to Mohonk Road.  Stay on this road for 2.5 miles as it winds down the other side of Mohonk Mountain.  As you approach the base of the mountain, there is a very sharp hairpin turn.  Just ahead of this turn, there is a large red barn.  After you pass the barn, take the first LEFT onto County Route 6/Clove Road.  Stay on this road for 2.3 miles.  Just after you cross the Rondout Creek on a green metal bridge, Crested Hen Farms is on the RIGHT.

FROM THE SOUTH (New Jersey):  Follow the Garden State Parkway until it merges with the NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY/Interstate 87 NORTH.  Follow the directions above from this point. 

FROM THE EAST (Poughkeepsie and south):  Follow US 44 West across the Mid-Hudson Bridge towards Highland/New Paltz.  After crossing the bridge, keep RIGHT at the fork and follow the signs for US 9W/US 44/NY 55/Highland/Kingston. Proceed for 0.7 miles then continue straight on US 9W North for 1.8 miles.  Use one of the left two lanes to turn LEFT onto NY 299W and proceed for 4.9 miles.  On your left, you will pass the entrance to/exit from Exit 18 of the New York State Thruway.  Follow the directions at this point from New Paltz, N.Y. above.

FROM THE EAST (Rhinebeck and north):  Follow NY 199 West across the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge.  Just after you cross the Hudson River, and pass the tollbooths, the road turns into US 209 South.  From US 209 South, follow the directions from Kingston, N.Y. above at the point where you exit from Route 28 West onto US 209 South.

FROM THE WEST (Western Pennsylvania/Wilkes-Barre/Scranton):  Take Interstate 84 EAST.  Take Exit 1 for NJ 23 towards US 6/Port Jervis/Sussex for 0.2 miles.  Turn RIGHT onto NJ 23 NORTH for 0.2 miles then turn LEFT onto E. Main Street for 0.3 miles.  Turn RIGHT onto N. Maple Avenue for 0.5 miles.  Continue onto Neversink Dr. for 4.3 miles then turn RIGHT onto US 209 for 38 miles.  Just after passing Accord, N.Y. bear to the RIGHT onto Lucas Turnpike for 2.1 miles.  At the four-way STOP, turn right onto County Route 6/Kyserike Road.  Crested Hen Farms is a few hundred feet on your LEFT.

FROM THE NORTHWEST (Binghamton, N.Y.):  Take Interstate 81 South for 4 miles to Interstate 86 East towards New York.  Stay on Interstate 86 East for 9.8 miles. Then exit onto NY 17 East/New York.  Stay on NY 17 East for 67 miles then exit at Exit 100 onto NY 52 towards Liberty for 0.1 miles.  At the traffic circle, take the THIRD exit onto NY 52 East for 20 miles.  Turn LEFT onto US 209 North/S. Main Street for 12 miles.  After passing through Accord, N.Y., follow the directions above from this point.
